Toyota Corolla: What’s New in 2021?

Ahhh the Toyota Corolla – a fan favorite among die hard fans of the brand.

For years, the Corolla has been known for being a safe, well-equipped, fuel-efficient vehicle. Even more, it’s been manufactured worldwide since 1966. That’s over half a century that the Corolla has been growing in popularity and adding to Toyota’s auto sales so it makes sense the car has become a household name.

With the New Year upon us, many are now wondering what’s in store for the 2021 Toyota Corolla. And while this year’s model will include all the standard amenities we’ve come to know and love about the brand, there are a still a few new features coming to get excited about, especially if you’re a Toyota enthusiast.

What’s New in the 2021 Toyota Corolla?

  • Automatic Engine Stop-Start Feature – Toyota’s Stop & Start Engine System monitors brake pedal operation so that your engine stops when you’re stopped. This means if your speed descends to 0 mph and the brake pedal has been depressed, the system stops the engine. Once your foot is taken off the brake, the system then smoothly restarts the engine with no extra steps to worry about.tton again or by restarting your vehicle.
  • Rear-Seat Side Airbags for the Corolla Sedan – The side impact airbags were featured in the front-seat of the 2020 model. They are designed to protect the torso involving a side impact collision.
  • The 12th Corolla Generation – Yep, you guessed it. The 2021 is part of the 12th Corolla generation introduced for 2019.
  • New Apex Edition – The 2021 Corolla has added a limited an optional Apex Edition Sports Package.  The package includes a tuned chassis and suspension as well summer tires which are optional. The Apex edition is available with the SE and XSE Corolla sedans. Of those 6000 which are made, approximately 120 will come with a manual transmission.
  • Android Auto™ Compatibility Now Standard – For those who have been waiting, Android Auto™ is now a standard feature on the 2021 Toyota Corolla. This means anyone with an android smartphone is able to connect the device to their car adding a smooth interface with smarter features. Unlike Bluetooth’s streaming capabilities, the android smartphone connectivity allows individuals to interact with their phone through the infotainment screen on their dashboard.
